Wimbledon-2017: Svitolina kicked off with a tough victory

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina to reach the second round of Wimbledon.

Part Svitolina at Wimbledon was in doubt due to injury of Achilles. The Ukrainian managed to lead his state on alert and decided not to sacrifice one of the four tournaments of the Grand slam.

In the first round, Svitolina met with tennis player from Australia Ashleigh Barty, who recently reached the final at a major tournament in Birmingham. This fact, as well as the modest results Svitolina on the grass has led to the fact that Barty was considered the favorite in the match against the fifth racket of the world.

At the start of the match, Barty meets the expectations of the bookmakers – 21-year-old native of Ipswich, acting aggressively and naturally took the lead with a break. Svitolina was clinging desperately to every draw and still managed to turn the game around. In the ninth game Elina has not allowed Barty to apply for a set, and the continuation of the party pressurized discouraged opponent.

In the second set Svitolina improved the quality of his tennis and were able to close the game in two sets. The fourth racket of Wimbledon could do without the tie-break, but with the score 4:2 and 40:15 didn’t protect his serve and allowed Barty to return to the game.

The sixth match ball Elina Svitolina pulled out a win in this tough match and came down to meet the experienced Italian Francesca Schiavone, in which two sets was the representative of the Luxembourg Mandy Minella (6:1, 6:1).
