When trying to give a large bribe detained the Director of the Nikolaev airport

According to the Prosecutor, Savchenko refused to take the bribe.

Thursday, December 28, was detained Director of the international airport of Nikolaev when trying to give a large bribe to the Governor of the Nikolaev area Alexey Savchenko.

This was announced by the Prosecutor of the region Taras Dunas at the briefing.

According to the investigation, the Director of the airport suggested Savchenko a bribe in 2,5 million hryvnias. At the time of arrest he was willing to tell the Governor of the sum in the amount of 700 thousand UAH. It is noted that the head of the Nikolaev regional state administration refused a bribe.

The actions of the Director of the municipal enterprise qualified part 3 of article 369 (bribery) of the criminal code of Ukraine. The sanction of article prescribes punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term from four till eight years with confiscation of property or without that court decision.

At the moment, the airport Director is detained and is in temporary detention facility. In the near future the court will solve a question on election to it measures of restraint.

According to the Prosecutor, the investigation examines the origin of the funds that were offered to the Governor as a bribe.
