What are inspection hatches used for?

Virtually every newly constructed building needs manholes. Why? Because they provide easy access to all electrical, telecommunication, plumbing and water supply risers, as well as chimneys and elevator shafts. They can be installed on ceilings and walls. However, their variety will depend on where you want to install them. Depending on your needs, you can use fire hatches or regular hatches.

Where are inspection hatches placed?

Everyone likes their premises to look attractive. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a commercial office building or an apartment building. Visible cables and pipes degrade the appearance of a room. That’s why during the planning stage or during renovation, when the existing layout is recognized as non-functional, it’s worth thinking about how everything should be arranged. This will make the hatches not only practical, but also increase their aesthetics.
Bathroom, toilet and kitchen – in these three places there are most often pipes, traps, filters, valves and meters (water meters, heat meters). They are usually covered by inspection hatches. Special fire shutters are used in places where special requirements for fire resistance of so-called building partitions must be met. When the hatch is open, the installation can be inspected and maintained. Fireplace inspection hatches must also be fire-resistant. They are distinguished from ordinary shutters by their non-standard dimensions.

Types of inspection hatches

They are mainly produced in two colors – white and gray. This allows them to combine with the decor of most rooms. They can be installed horizontally or vertically. Depending on your needs, some of them may have special handles, locks and keys.
