World champion light heavyweight champion under versions IBF, WBO and WBA champion Andre ward in a rematch again dealt with the Russian Sergey Kovalev.
The climax of the revenge occurred in the eighth round. Ward’s powerful forehand seriously shook Kovalev, who had a panicky step back in the hope to endure till the Gong at the break. Ward cornered opponent at the ropes and struck him several blows below the belt.

“On Monday we will file a protest and ask the Commission to reconsider the replay Kovalev punches below the belt. It’s a shame,” said Kovalev’s promoter Kathy Duva.
