US special envoy for Ukrainian Affairs Kurt Volker said that the Russian aggression against Ukraine is a risk for the whole of Europe.
“We must do everything to stop the human suffering after the conflict has killed about 10 thousand people, millions were forced to leave their homes. It is a challenge not only for Ukraine, these are the risks for Europe as a whole,” said Walker at a press conference in Vilnius.
In addition, he stressed that Washington supports the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and security of all citizens regardless of their religion or nationality.
“The first step on this path is a long – term cease-fire,” he said.
We will remind, in Minsk on 21 August, a meeting of the assistant to the head of the Kremlin, the curator of the terrorist organizations “DNR/LNR” Vladislav Surkov with the special representative of the United States Ukraine with Kurt Volker.
According to media reports, the meeting was exploratory in nature work.
It is expected that Walker will arrive in Ukraine on August 23.
