Special envoy of the US state Department on Ukraine Kurt Volker and adviser of the RF President Vladislav Surkov in October, will hold a meeting on which will discuss the question of peacekeeping of the UN mission to the occupied territory of Donbass.
This was reported by former U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft.
“Kurt Volker will meet with Vladislav Surkov in early October. We believe it is important to try to come to an understanding on the question of the mandate of a possible peacekeeping mission”, – said the diplomat.
Tefft said that the UN mission should have a broad mandate and be located on all territory of Donbass, which is currently affected by armed conflict. Also, peacekeepers must be on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
