The crossover has moved to a new platform.
At the motor show in Geneva, Volvo introduced the XC60 crossover second generation. The model is built on a new modular platform SPA, and is also equipped with a hybrid power plant with a capacity of 407 horsepower. SUV with this unit accelerates from zero to hundred kilometres per hour in 5.3 seconds.
Gamma motor Volvo XC60 new generation will also include four four-cylinder turbo engine: two diesel and two petrol. The first is represented by units outstanding 190 (D4) and 235 (D5) horsepower. The return of petrol engines is 254 (T5) and 320 (T6) strength.
At the time of entering the market all versions of the Volvo XC60 will be equipped with all-wheel drive system and vosmidiapazonnoy automatic transmission. In the Autocar report that later may appear less powerful versions, and also versions with a manual gearbox and front wheel drive.
Overall length of the crossover is 4690 mm, width — 1902 mm, height — 1658 millimeters. The wheelbase of this model is 2865 mm. Novelty is 46 millimeters long, 11 mm wider and 55 mm lower than its predecessor. The difference in distance between the axes amounts to 91 mm in favor of the XC60 the new generation.
Volvo has named the SUV one of the safest cars in the world.
