Volkswagen is planning to develop and release on the market in South America brand new SUV. It will create a global platform MQB.

Countries in South America, especially Brazil and Argentina, it is very important for the company Volkswagen. Yearly there are sold more number of cars of this brand. Volkswagen has recently changed the principle of operation of their branches in South American countries – now they have more powers. This is reflected, including in independent design work.

In addition, Volkswagen in the coming years, investing in its plant in Argentina more than 653 million dollars, which will allow it to modernize and increase production capacity. By 2020, South America, the company expects to launch about 20 new and updated models. Among them will be the SUV that will be built on a global platform MQB.

Unfortunately, this novelty is not yet known. It said only that it will be a “completely new model”. Ie it will create from scratch. She will get the original body design and modern technologies of communication and security. We do not exclude that in the end it will be sold not only in South America but on other continents.

What other new models Volkswagen will offer the people of South America? It is, for example, a seven-seat version of the Tiguan (it will appear in Brazil in the beginning of 2018), as well as a compact crossover, built on the base of Skoda Karoq (it will be called Tharu). In the range of engines, this compact crossover will include a 1.4 l TSI unit with a capacity of 150 HP, and 1.5 liter TSI unit.
