Japanese restaurant “lures” visitors stunning installations.
Today, discerning visitors of restaurants will not surprise gourmet menu. So restaurateurs to attract customers, introducing unique technologies, based on the special effects.
From now on guests of one of the restaurants in Tokyo can not only get pleasure from food, but also to feel the magical world of harmony, peace of mind, in the atmosphere, bewitching music, which weaves the songs of birds, the splash of living water, breath of wind. Fascinating installation of Sagaya restaurant in Tokyo, turns an ordinary lunch or dinner into an interactive theatrical performance.
“Liberated worlds” – so named the project, designed by the art group TeamLab and embodied in one of the halls of the famous Tokyo restaurant. The project is based on the use of digital interactive elements, motion sensors, and lighting effects. The space is filled with digital images, created for embedding each guest dining in a unique world.
The developers of the project has involved everything: the walls, the table, Cutlery, served food and even the visitors. Interactive projection in a darkened room seems to “grow” through some objects, forming interweaving of images and details, creating a magical picture, which periodically dissolves, and in its place arises a new one.

Some of the ingredients of which, or rather, their virtual images, “flies” from the plates and add up to a whimsical composition in space.
Here you can see the blossoming floral branches on the walls and a floating fish on the surface of the table, and fluttering butterflies and flying birds. And since traffic sitting at the table is able to change the installation, the virtual objects miraculously moving. For example, “priceusa” on the sleeve of a butterfly or a bird might flush from his careless movement and sit on the branch of a tree, which miraculously “sprouted” from the plate of a neighbor.
Thus, all interactive elements, combined together, create a vast hypnotic display with visual wonders.
It should be noted that for one day this hall can only visit up to 8 guests, and the menu consists of 12 dishes, which change according to the seasons. And although the idea of interactive restaurants is not new, but TeamLab has raised the art form to a higher level. The interactive room is open for visitors since the end of April this year.
