Viber has announced a self-destructing chats

In the coming days, the feature will appear in the app for iOS and Android.

Team messenger Viber announced a self-destructing chats, which will appear in the coming days.

The new feature allows users to set how long the video or photo will be visible in the conversation.

The developers assure, secret chats extend the capabilities of disappearing messages, which were presented in February 2017, and also hidden chats, which have been available since last year.

However, it remains unclear how will be implemented to protect against screenshot these secret messages. Probably the Android version will get the lock screenshots, and iOS app just alert at the attempt of the interlocutor to take a screenshot.

In the coming days, the feature will appear in the app for iOS and Android. The number of app users now exceeds 800 million people.
