Currently Steam Greenlight is still operational but not accepting new applications.
The reason for this was the inefficient process of votes the game on Steam. Developers can spend their efforts to get fans to vote for promotion of the game, which led to different consequences. Which is why Valve introduced a more advanced service Direct Steam, where only she and she alone deals with the selection of future releases.
Steam Greenlight started life in August 2012, the exit of certain projects voted nearly 90 million times, 10 million users of Steam. In the end Valve has decided that direct control over the passage of games will be more effective than the current system.
Currently Steam Greenlight is still operational but not accepting new applications. Right now before systems are 3400 games developers are asked to show patience and wait when Valve will publish the final selection of games. All projects that were not selected, can enter the store through Steam Direct.
In order to send the game to Steam Direct, the developers need to pay $ 100 — they will return when the game reaches the threshold of $ 1,000 of sales. Valve will verify the game according to their real positions and the absence of viruses in the downloaded files of the game. Direct the Steam launch will take place on 13 June.
