The house is situated on top of a hill
Located in an olive grove in the South of the Peloponnese, this summer residence from the architectural Studio LASSA stands out for its original roof in the shape of the Greek letter Y (Ypsilon), which gives benefits in the form of additional land and opportunities to enjoy scenic views. The branching roof defines three semi-circular inner courtyard, suitable for different classes depending on the position of the sun.
The house is situated on a hilltop with views of the Gulf of Shiz and Sapienza, as well as of the mountains to the East. The height of the building is dictated by the tops of olive trees for its integration with the surrounding landscape. The inner space can be divided into two main parts: a private area with three bedrooms and two bathrooms with views to the East; and common areas in the South presented kitchen and lounge, through which you can go to any of the three courtyards. The shape of concrete buildings with grass roofs and cross ventilation provide the necessary sustainability without mechanical cooling systems.
The remote location combined with limited budgets and non-standard layout influenced the construction plan, the main strategy of which was remote production elements, thereby reducing implementation time up to 7 months without sacrificing anything in terms of quality or exceeding budget. This approach made it possible to minimal use of commercial products that fill store shelves, instead giving preference to local materials and craftsmen.
