After Michael Romanchuk, who won gold the day before in the race for 400 meters freestyle, the champion of the Universiade became the second leader of the national team of Ukraine on swimming. Andriy Govorov won the 50-meter butterfly swim.
In the final Dialects competed exclusively with the Universiade record set in 2009 by Kenyan swimmer Jason Dunford. Ukrainian has significantly updated the previous record, removing from result of Dunford 0,19 seconds (22,90 against 23,09).
The bronze medalist of the Universiade in this race was 18-year-old Andrew of the Boys, who shared the third place with a student from Brazil-Henrique Martins de Souza.
Due to the success of swimmers of national team of Ukraine in the medal standings of the 19-th world summer Universiade is in seventh position.
On Tuesday at the Universiade will compete for medals in diving, fencing, gymnastics, judo, swimming, roller sports, Taekwondo and weightlifting.
