Surreal earthen pillars

His new series of photos called “Otherworldly” (“Not of this world”) German photographer Kilian Schönberger has devoted Ritten earth pillars – natural monument, which is a vertical column of clay up to a height of 40 meters, which is located in the Alps in the Italian province of South Tyrol.

The pillars were formed by the washout of soft rocks the rain.

Each of the columns of the crowns brought here once by a glacier a stone boulder, which protects it from further erosion.
