The clip was shot dead by a resident of Hiroshima.
Peace memorial Museum in Hiroshima finished the digitization and restoration of 16mm film, which depicted the peaceful life of the Japanese city a few years before the nuclear bomb the United States.
Currently the only video with documentary footage, pre-war Hiroshima, presented at the Museum last week.
Three-minute clip was shot dead by a resident of Hiroshima, Kenjiro Kawasaki. He managed to capture the cherry blossoms, people in the shopping streets of the city and the local building of the exhibition center – it was located 160 meters from the epicenter of an atomic explosion, in which the facade of the burned and partially collapsed, and all the people died.
According to the source, to work on a video the Museum took 900,000 yen (approximately 8,000 U.S. dollars).
Video processing included the removal of scratches and increasing resolution, since the film was in bad condition.
The researchers, familiar with the result, suggested that the film was made in April 1935.
