This was stated by first Deputy Chairman of Kyiv city state administration Gennady FPGA.
Metro remains a priority for us, however, you need to understand that the “underground” troieschyna will cost 70 billion. To find the money, takes time, and the problem of communication of the left and right banks should be solved immediately, the official said.
So in the KSCA consider other options including tram-train (a combination of tram and train) and BRT (the movement of trolley buses and buses on the selected lines). According to officials, using tram-train or BRT will be able to carry 140 million passengers daily, while the subway in this area will cover only 110 thousand passengers.
“If we provide the movement of the tram-train every 3-4 minutes, it will not differ from the subway. However, operation is cheaper for the city. Until the completion of the subway, the alternatives will allow us to solve the message left and the right Bank”, — summed up Gennady FPGA.
