Two residents of Dnipropetrovsk region organized a so-called “rehabilitation centres” from which the police freed 87 people held power.
Victims were placed in protective custody and violent, suppressing their will, according to the Department of communication of the regional police.
The people in good health were used as hired labor. Money for work performed was received by the leaders of the center.
According to the chief of Department of fight against crimes connected with human trafficking of the National police of Ukraine Artem Krishchenko, police throughout the day, conducted nine searches in the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region and one in the Kiev region.
“The so-called rehabilitation centres were functioning without any license and without proper conditions. This problem must be solved not only by efforts of the police, but also by the Executive authorities and local self-government must regulate and monitor the activities of these institutions”, – said Krishchenko.
Investigators are seen in actions of organizers of illegal centers signs of crimes under article 146 (Illegal imprisonment or kidnapping) and article 149 of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
For such actions are punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term up to 12 years.
