The President of Ukraine agreed with the king of Saudi Arabia to reduce the cost of visas for Ukrainians.
Ukraine have agreed on visa facilitation with Saudi Arabia. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, reports the website of the head of the country.
“I was surprised to learn that visas to Saudi Arabia are the most expensive among all countries of the world to Ukrainian and Ukrainian visa – the most expensive for Saudis,” said Poroshenko, in comments to journalists after his official visit to Saudi Arabia.
Poroshenko noted that during the meeting with the king of Saudi Arabia, an agreement was reached to reduce the amount of fees for visas and movement in the direction of facilitate people to people contacts, simplifying cooperation between businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as increased travel.
The President of Ukraine added that the simplification of the visa regime with Saudi Arabia, will also promote religious exchanges. Poroshenko said that in Ukraine there are about 2 million Muslims and they will be able to make a pilgrimage – a Hajj to Saudi Arabia.
“We have agreed that we will do the maximum simplification of the procedures of Hajj,” he added.
We will remind, on 17 may in Strasbourg Ukraine officially received bezviz with the European Union after the signing of the legislative decisions on the introduction of the EU visa regime for Ukrainian citizens. Thus, Ukrainians will open the border 34 of the EU.
In June of this year, Ukraine also reached important agreements on visas with Switzerland.
