In the Carpathians in connection with the thaw there is a significant danger
Forecasters warn of considerable avalanche danger in the Carpathians during 25 – 26 December 2017. This was reported by the press service of the State service of Ukraine on emergency situations (SSES).
“Warning about the avalanche danger. 25 – 26 December, in connection with the thaw in the Carpathians remains significant (level 3) snow avalanche danger”, – stated in the message. Note, in the third level (the highest level), according to the European classification of the avalanche can go on many slopes even in conditions of slight exposure to the snow mass. On some slopes you can go medium or large spontaneous avalanches.
We will remind, earlier it was reported about the statement of the press center of the DSNs that the Ukrainian forecasters warn of rise in water levels on the rivers of Ukraine during 25-27 December 2017. Thus, according to the Ukrgidromettsentra for 25 December in connection with rainfall and snowmelt on the rivers of the Pripyat basin are expected to rise water levels by 0.1 – 0.5 m, sometimes later out of water on the floodplains.
