Ukrainians reminded about the increase of tariffs for heat

Prices may increase by 20%.

Starting in October the heating season, may begin with higher prices for heat by almost 20%.

Though officials assured people that they will not raise rates, but much will depend not on them but on the requirements of the International monetary Fund. September 12, his mission will visit Kiev. And its members will certainly remind our government about the obligations of raising gas prices 1 UAH — to UAH 8 per cubic meter.

“These provisions are spelled out in the Memorandum with the IMF — the so-called formula “Dusseldorf plus” works in such a way that will lead to growth of tariffs. On the increase of tariffs for gas insist and representatives of the European energy community, which requires them to abolish discriminatory gas prices for the population, which was lower than the cost of energy for industry”, — said the expert on energy issues Valentin Zemlyansky.

But that’s not all the problems that may face consumers with the advent of cold weather. For example, Ukraine has had problems with its coal reserves. According to experts, in the case of the blockade, most of the problems arise from the industrial areas of the country: Mariupol, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk.

“The projected deficit for the heating season, until the end of March 2018, is 4 million tons: 1 million coal gas group, 3 million — anthracite. Sources of supply also has quite a big problem, because coal from South Africa selected almost all. There is a bit of Australian coal, but it does not help the situation. There is another American whose price may reach $130/t for deliveries to Ukraine. For comparison, Russia we supply for $80/ton”, — said V. Zemlyanskyy.

Such distortions in price, according to experts, will also put pressure on the rate. Do not forget about the impact of inflation and the stability of the hryvnia, which also encourage appreciation of communal.

The good thing is — the price of electricity this year, more lift and don’t plan. Although time will tell. After heating to go up, too, was not, experts say.

How not to pay

“Many now seek a way simply not to pay the current rates. For example, the pensioner may write a letter to the supplier that in connection with a small pension pays only 50-100 UAH. That is quite possible to prove in court that the standard of living of the debtor does not meet the appetites of service providers”, — told ex-Minister of housing Oleksiy Kucherenko.

Also, according to him, people do not pay more because think of all of the tariffs approved by NERC, illegal. “Only the Executive branch can regulate tariffs. Commission this list is not listed. And in court it is also possible to prove”, — said Kucherenko.
