According to the Ukrainians, in most spheres of life the situation in the country for 2017 has deteriorated significantly.

Such data was published by the Fund “Democratic initiatives” name Ilka Kucheriv, which the Fund received as a result of a nationwide study conducted in cooperation with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center.

According to the published data, the most negative changes have occurred in the level of prices and tariffs – here deterioration was noted by 87% of the population, economic situation in Ukraine (72%), stability (72%), attitude of citizens to the government (69%), confidence of citizens in the future (67,5%), the level of family welfare (63%), the situation with crime (62%), health (61%), the attitude of the authorities to the citizens (60%).

In addition, mainly the deterioration of the situation was indicated in the social protection (50%), pay (49%), compliance with the law by state officials (47%), education (42%), pensions (39%).

Mostly nothing has changed in areas such as the provision of Ukrainian population (64%), the situation of Russian-speaking population (60%), the situation of religious and ethnic minorities (59%), the level of freedom of speech (44%), the level of democracy (44%), interethnic relations (43%).

There were different views on the situation in the field of human rights (40% believe that the situation has not changed and 39% think it has changed for the worse).

The only area where people have noted the improvement is the defense of the country – a change for the better identified 39% of the population (for the worse – 21%).

Almost shared his views on the international image of Ukraine: 24% of citizens believe that the image has changed for the better, 34% worse, and 28% believe that he hasn’t changed.

The overall situation in the country, according to 69% of the population changed for the worse (in 2016 – 73%).

When compared with the previous year, noted in the Fund then in 2016 some changes for the worse, public opinion was noted in the health sector (in 2016, the deterioration was noted by 53%, in 2017 – 61%), education (respectively , 36% and 42%), the observance of the rights and freedoms of citizens (32% and 39%).

A nationwide study was conducted by Fund “Democratic initiatives” name Ilka Kucheriv jointly with the sociological service of Razumkov Centre during the period from 15 to 19 December 2017 in all regions of Ukraine except Crimea and occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Respondents 2004 respondents aged from 18 years. Theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%. Funding survey carried out in the framework of the project MATRA of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
