The law came into force on 1 January.
In Ukraine from 1 January 2018 and entered into force the law on the separation of waste and prohibiting the disposal of unprocessed (raw) household waste.
According to the document, large-size, repair and hazardous waste the composition of household should be collected separately from other types.
Hazardous waste must be separated at the stage of collecting or sorting and transferred to specialized companies licensed for operations in the field of hazardous waste management.
Transportation of waste should be carried out specially equipped vehicles. The disposal of domestic waste is permitted only on specially equipped landfills/dumps.
Heat treatment (incineration) of household waste is allowed only in specially designated establishments or facilities.

Failure to comply with these requirements face a fine, said chief of Department of an accomplishment of territories Maxim Barinov in comments 112 Ukraine. According to him, the population will be a fine from 340 to 1360 UAH for legal entities – from 850 to 1700 UAH.
