Chairman of the Board of the Independent Association of banks of Ukraine Roman Shpek noted that recently there has been an increase in the Deposit portfolio in Ukraine.
“The level of confidence in the banking system resumed much faster than the level of confidence in the government as a whole. The banking system is part of a General economic system, and if the General economic system neoregeria if the very large risks that banks find it hard to show a different behavior,” he said.
The ex-Minister of economy added that sustainable financial institutions were able to adequately get out of the latest crisis situations.
“And the crisis of 2008-09, and the crisis of 2014 showed that the number of banks understand their significance, social function, and they fulfilled the obligations that were to perform,” – said speck.
In addition, the banker noted that in recent times there has been a steady growth of deposits.
“Responsible shareholders have assumed the obligation and consequences of diagnosis, the stress test increased capital, corporate structure, updated its business model, based on the situation in which they were living. As a result, we see that many banks are ready and engage in active operations. The level of deposits increases, the growth rates show that the trust of citizens in the banking system resumed”, – he concluded.
