Spagetka Elena Krivitskaya brought Ukraine’s second medal held in Leipzig world fencing championship.
The main start of the season, missed Olympic champion Yana Shemyakina, but because of spagatik main hopes were pinned on the 30-year-old Elena an Krivitsky, who came to Germany for his first personal world championship titles.
In the 1/32 finals of ternopolschina dealt with Fink Anna Salminen (15:11), and in 1/16 with the same bill passed the U.S. representative Kelly Hourly.
For the quarter-finals Krivitskaya competed with the first seeded Chinese song Even. In a bitter battle Elena won a sensational victory (15:13).
Medal of the world championship Krivitskaya guaranteed after the victory over Russian Tatiana Logunova (15:11). Ukrainian skillfully counterattacked and did not allow the opponent to catch up in a few shots.
In the semi-finals Krivitskaya met with the representative of Poland eve Nalip. Elena with the score 2:1 won the first round but the second round had missed three injections in a row and failed to win.
Bronze medal Elena Krivickas became a worthy addition to the Golden achievements of the Nikolaev sablistka Olga Harlan, who last Saturday became the fivefold champion of the world.
