One of the most extreme bars on the planet.
Bar “Faraday” on the Ukrainian polar station “Akademik Vernadsky” Antarctic entered the list of the most unusual and interesting, compiled by the British experts Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley.
“If you want to get into the most remote bar in the world – may it be a tiny bar “Faraday” research station “Academician Vernadsky” Antarctic Peninsula”, – quotes the authors of an authoritative edition of the Daily Mail.
The bar has only seven seats, where visitors can enjoy a shot of home distilled vodka, wine and beer cost about three dollars.
“It’s probably the most extreme, but certainly one of the most life-changing,” said Harrison Ridley.
Note that the bar “Faraday” is located at the southernmost point of the world – on the small island of Galindez. Previously, he belonged to the British.
The bar has Billiards, gym, post office and gift shop. On the walls – pictures of Antarctic scenery and, of course, a portrait of nineteenth century English physicist Michael Faraday.
Tourists visit the bar mostly in the summer, because the winter temperatures in Antarctica can drop to -60 degrees.
