Ukraine will switch to the caliber used by NATO countries.
In Ukraine will improve the production of munitions procured through the production line. This is stated in the message of Ministry of economic development in Facebook.
It is noted that the Ministry has carried out a procurement procedure of the production line of the shell casings and cartridges of caliber of 100-155 mm in the framework of the program of development of production of ammunition.
“In addition we are planning to go to a main caliber used by NATO – 155 mm. All equipment that is purchased and shipped under this program will be adapted to NATO standards. Made these shells is likely to be SJSHC Artem. Also, the funds of the Ministry of defense plans to produce cartridges of caliber from 5.45 mm to 14.5 mm,” – said in the message.
As reported, the state research and production complex Progress has developed high-precision artillery shell Karasuk, which provides the maximum probability of destruction of the target the first shot at ranges up to 12 km.
