Ukraine will spend 16.5 billion hryvnias on production of weapons

The Ministry of defence of Ukraine to 2018 intends to increase spending on the purchase of arms

The government of Ukraine in 2018, will receive 16.5 billion hryvnia from the state budget for production and modernization of armament and military equipment.

This was stated by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman at a press conference on the results of 2017. “We will send next year to 16.5 billion hryvnia for the production of new weapons and modernization,” – said the Prime Minister.

He noted that the military-industrial complex of Ukraine will be the driver of economic growth next year.

The Ministry of defence of Ukraine to 2018 intends to increase spending on the purchase of arms and military equipment by 34% to 18.1 billion hryvnia, which corresponds to at least 20% of the total budget of the Department. The state budget of Ukraine for the year 2018 provides for a $ 86 billion hryvnias for the Ministry of defence. The total defense expenditures of Ukraine is about 5% of GDP.
