The chief of the General staff – commander of armed forces Victor Muzhenko considers it necessary to strengthen the military presence of Ukraine in the Azov sea.
This should be the response to Russia’s actions in blocking the vessels. He stated this in an interview with BBC Ukraine.
According to him, currently, a plan is developed. It provides not only the strengthening of the presence in the sea, but also strengthening the defense of the coast of the Azov sea.
“The presence of the Ukrainian Navy in the sea of Azov should be increased. We plan not only to increase the presence of the sea, but the activities for the defense of the coast of the sea of Azov”, – said the commander.
He also recalled that in the sea their forces are border guards, however, assured that the increasing presence of groups of Naval Forces at sea will be held.
