Representatives of Naftogaz and the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine held a meeting with officials from the state Department, the Congress and the Ministry of energy of the United States.
The leadership of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and Deputy head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs Elena zerkal held a formal meeting in the US on purchases of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG), anti-Nord stream-2, and the surrender of the Ukrainian GTS into concession. This was reported in Facebook the head of Naftogaz Andrey Kobelev.
“In meetings at the State Department and the U.S. Department of energy stated, in particular, about how to provide for Ukraine a reliable opportunity to buy LNG at a competitive price,” he wrote.
KOBOLEV added that this will help to accumulate additional gas reserves at the beginning of winter.
The head of Naftogaz noted that the risk of termination of transit of Russian gas through Ukraine was also discussed during the meetings with representatives of the US Administration, Congress and the international financial institutions that support Ukraine.
According to KOBOLEV, during these meetings, the Ukrainian delegation saw interest in the reform of the Ukrainian gas market and the process of separating independent operator GTS of Ukraine on the basis of the model with the transfer of the GTS into concession.
“Talking with U.S. senators who are co-authors of several sanctions bills, we focused on addressing the Nord stream-2”, – said the Korolev.
