The team of Sergey Popova took third place in the group stage and missed the quarter-finals of Euro 2017.
Ukrainians on the continental tournament started with a minimal defeat against the Netherlands (0:1), and in the second round, conceded four unanswered goals from their peers from England and prematurely broke up with chances to qualify in the playoffs of the European championship.
In the last round of “blue-yellow” met with Norway, which in case of victory could beat the Dutch and qualify from the group.
All went to zero draw, that didn’t suit Norwegians. The Scandinavians in the end game actively went ahead and conceded two goals. A minute before the end of the regular playing time Oleksiy Kashchuk nodded in a cross from the flank, and Artem Chill in the counter-attack finished off Norway.
Thus, Ukraine with one win in three matches and took third place in group D. In the playoffs from this group made it England and the Netherlands.
