Ukraine took the unenviable place in another world ranking

Ukraine – in the penultimate place.

According to the world organization of motor vehicle manufacturers (OICA), in the first half of 2017 Ukraine took the last place in the world ranking, releasing 3078 cars.

Ukraine in the ranking managed to overtake only our neighbour – Belarus. “As for the January-June Belarusian plants produced 1310 cars,” explained NV Business in Ukravtoprom.

The closest competitor of Ukraine in the list was Egypt, which was released during the reporting period, about 5 thousand cars.

In total, according to OICA, for the first six months of 2017 global auto industry produced about 36 million passenger vehicles, up almost 3% more than the year before.

The largest manufacturer of passenger cars is China and 11.5 million units (+3.2 per cent). The second place is Japan at 4.1 million units (+9%). Despite the decline in production by 3.5%, the third place confidently holds the German car industry – 2.9 million units in Fourth place in the ranking goes to South Korea is 1.96 million cars (-2%). The top five leaders of Jan-June India – 1.94 million cars.
