Ukraine sharply increases defence spending

The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Makarova called the sphere of security and defence is a priority for the government.

In the draft budget for 2020, the Cabinet has decided to lay the expenses on these purposes more than $ 245 billion ($9.9 billion).

Specifies the amount of 16.1%, or 33.8 billion, more than was allocated for defense in 2019, (USD 7.43 billion).

According to Makarova, will also increase the costs of labor and monetary support.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk said that in 2020 Ukraine will be planning the budget for the next three years.

The draft budget must be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada until September 15.
