Ukraine shipped to Europe, a record number of sunflower seeds.
In September-January 2016/17 marketing year (MG) Ukraine has exported 140 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, which was a record for the last six seasons.
While about 80% of this amount was delivered to the EU-28, in particular in the Netherlands, France and Spain. It is reported IA “APK-inform”.
Analysts of the Agency raised its estimate of the total volume of export of sunflower seeds from Ukraine in the season of 40 thousand tonnes to 290 THD tonnes.
At the same time, despite increased shipments to the external market, the Agency’s analysts estimate the availability of sunflower in Ukraine on 1 February this year of 7,2 million tons (+12% compared to last year, which is enough to run forecast of domestic processing in 2016/17 MG (13.6 million tons).
