Ukraine increased electricity production

The production of electricity in the United energy system of Ukraine in January-may 2018 increased by 1.9% (1 billion 264,3 million kWh) compared to the same period in 2017 up to 68 billion 203,1 million kWh. On Tuesday, June 19.

It is noted that a nuclear power plant (NPP) during this period reduced electricity generation by 14%, to 33 billion to 436.6 million kWh. In particular, the electricity production at the Zaporizhzhya NPP amounted to 15 billion 843,6 million kWh (-4,5% compared to January-may-2018), South Ukrainian – 6,621 billion kWh (-11,1%), Rivne – 5 billion 898,1 million kWh (-23,6%), Khmelnytsky – 5 billion 73.9 million kWh (-28,8%).

Thermal power plants (TPP) and combined heat and power (CHP) and cogeneration unit (CU) has increased production by 21.3% – to $ 26 billion of 90.9 million kWh. including the generating companies, thermal power plants increased their production to 24.9% – up to 20 billion 263,6 million kWh and CHP and KU – 10.2%, to 5 billion 827,3 million kWh.

Hydro and pumped-storage power plant (HPP and PSPP) in January-may 2018 production increased by 35.8% to 7 billion of 67.6 million kWh, whereas the block-stations decreased 2.6% to 588,3 million kWh.

Electricity production from non-traditional sources (wind farms, SES, biomass) for the five months increased by 39.8% to 1 billion 19.7 million kWh.

The share of NPPs in production of electricity amounted to 49% (in January-may 2017 – 58,1%), TPP, TPP and q of 38.3% (32.1 percent), hydro and pumped storage 10.4 per cent (7.8 per cent), the block-stations – 0,9% (0,9%), alternative sources – 1,5% (1,1).

The production of electricity in IPS of Ukraine in may 2018 decreased by 0.2% (20 million kWh) compared to the same month in 2017 – up to 11,669 billion kWh.

In addition, thermal energy in January-may 2018 increased by 7.5% (937,5 thousand Gcal) compared to the same period of 2017 to 13 million 443,3 thousand Gcal.
