At the world University games Ukrainian athletes won nine medals – two gold, three silver and four bronze medals. This allowed Ukraine to close the top 10 of the medal standings of the winter Universiade.
Champion of the competition in Alma-ATA became biathlete Nadezhda Belkina and a pair of figure skaters Alexandra Nazarova/Maxim Nikitin.
Twice in the away victory at the Universiade stopped biathlete Yana Bondar, who took second place in the sprint and mass start. Also, the silver driven out of Kazakhstan annamari Dana, who took second place in the parallel giant slalom snowboarding.
Bronze prize-winners of University games in Kazakhstan became biathlete Nadezhda Belkina, national team of Ukraine in biathlon mixed relay and two third places scored a snowboarder Alexander Belinsky.
Ukraine at the Universiade-2017 represented 61 athlete in ten sports. Part in competitions was taken by athletes from 17 to 28 years, who are students of higher educational institutions.
