This was stated by the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian.
He reminded that the Parliament adopted the bill on electric vehicles. Omeljan said that he wants to lead Ukraine into the global giants in the field of production of lithium batteries.
“What we’re planning, it’s 15 years of market development of electric cars in Ukraine, but this production. I want to bring the world giants in the production of lithium batteries, while this technology is still useful and used. We are actually somewhere in 10-15 years time to use the lithium, which we have, and then switch to graphene or something else — and in this field will graze cows, as it is happening today, ” he said.
The Minister said that the preference for the production of electric cars understand China and began to produce these machines.
“What they (electric cars, — ed.) and the benefit realized at the time China: they could not catch up with the quality machines with internal combustion engine — no Mercedes, no BMW — made copies of similar, but completely different. And so, when Musk created a new industry, they went to this sector, ” he said.
Omeljan also listed the advantages of electrocore noted that the Ukrainians are ready to switch to the electric vehicles.
“The electric car is much cheaper to produce, much easier, and in principle it satisfies a new type of consumer, who need to have a comfortable, modern and cheap thing. This mass market is now in the trend. Ukrainians themselves a modern nation, and they switched to electric cars.
