Interesting facts about the Constitution.
The Constitution of Ukraine – the fundamental law in the country. She determines that the only source of power – the people. That man, his life and health, honour and dignity, inviolability and security are the highest social value. And that the rights and freedoms of man and their guarantees determine the directions of activities of the country.

Wrote the Ukrainian Constitution for six years – from 1990 to 1996. At the final stage of its adoption was in jeopardy due to disagreements between President Leonid Kuchma and the Verkhovna Rada.
But in the end the Basic Law of Ukraine was passed at 9:18 am on June 28, 1996. For it gave the voices of the 315 MPs (300 if necessary), and they voted separately for each article. To do this, Parliament was forced to work continuously for 24 hours.
“Yea Constitution!”, – with these words, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Moroz announced the results of voting. The basic Law came into force from the date of adoption. After a night of work for MPs staged a small feast with champagne and chocolates.

June 28 – the day of the historic vote is a national holiday and official day off in Ukraine. This is the only holiday, enshrined in the Constitution itself. And all of the current Constitution consists of 15 chapters and 161 articles.
