Ukrainian biathletes shock completed the penultimate stage of the biathlon world Cup in Kontiolahti (Finland).
Irina Varvynets in the first stage with clean shooting only lost the award-winning French Dorin-habert. In the second phase, a substitute of Yulia Jim Olga Abramova took three extra rounds, and Ukraine has moved to fourth place a minute behind the leading from the French.
Sergey Semenov greatly fulfilled the third stage and lifted the team to third place intermediate. Dmitry Pidruchny on the final segment of the mixed relay for the bronze competed with Russia. The climax happened at the final shooting range, a Ukrainian used only one additional cartridge, and his counterpart Garanichev stood on the range for almost a minute.
In the end Pidruchny safely reached third place. The victory was won by the French team, silver went to athletes from Germany.
