The education Ministers of Moldova and Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych and Monica babuc has decided to establish a working group on ensuring of the rights of national minorities to education in their native language in both countries. This is stated in the press service of the Ministry of education, culture and research of Moldova.
It is reported that the working group will propose measures to ensure the rights of minority communities in both countries to study at language schools, as well as to support the development of curricula and textbooks.
Minister of Moldova during the meeting in Kiev expressed the hope that the new Ukrainian law on education does not limit the right of national minorities in Ukraine to study in their native language. She also stressed the readiness of the Moldovan Ministry engage in constructive dialogue on article 7 of the law.
In turn Hrynevych stressed Ukraine’s readiness to intensify the bilateral dialogue, including through the involvement of specialists from the two ministries.
Recall, 19 September 2017, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy paruby signed the bill on educational reforms in Ukraine.
