Ukraine and Macedonia had agreed on cooperation in the field of renewable energy. The decision was taken following the meeting the Chairman of the Saee Serhiy Savchuk with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Ukraine Mr. Zmejkoski the Table.
At the meeting, Mr. Table Zmejkoski announced that Macedonia long been developing renewable energy in accordance with the standards of the European Union. In particular, according to the updated National action plan for renewable energy until 2025 the country plans to achieve 25% clean energy in final energy consumption.
“Macedonia is rapidly moving towards the goal. According to Eurostat data, in 2015 the share of green energy in the country reached 19.9%. Special attention is paid to wind and hydropower,” said the Ambassador.
In turn, Savchuk told about the plans and achievements of Ukraine in the issue of renewable energy development, focusing on legislative changes that facilitate doing business in this area.
The results of the meeting, the parties agreed to cooperate. The table Zmejkoski promised to present the achievements of Ukrainian market of clean energy experts and the business environment in Macedonia. And the Saee expressed readiness to demonstrate to foreign investors the promising projects that can be implemented in the regions of Ukraine, including in the field of small hydropower.
