Official site of “Zenit” reports that Tymoshchuk was part of the coaching staff of former coach of Shakhtar Mircea Lucescu. For the Ukrainian secured the position of assistant coach.
Tymoshchuk was signed by Zenit a two-year agreement. Financial details of the contract, the St. Petersburg club was not disclosed.
In February, 37-year-old midfielder officially announced the completion of a player’s career. Along the way, Tymoshchuk received a coaching diploma, the PRO category, giving the right to work in any professional club in the world.
Together with Zenit, Tymoshchuk became the double champion of Russia, winner of the super Cup, Cup and UEFA super Cup. The club from St. Petersburg Ukrainian played 150 matches, scoring 18 goals and gave five assists.
Anatoliy Tymoshchuk is the most successful player in the history of independent Ukraine. A graduate of Volyn, playing in Shakhtar, Zenit, Bayern and Kairat won 21 trophies, including the Champions League, the Cup and the UEFA super Cup.
