Two excerpts from the forest of horror “Ritual” based on the novel by Adam Neville

Novel Adam Neville “Ritual” has only just appeared on sale in Russian language. It is powerful, psychological and terrifying book that should be in the collection of any fan of horror literature. Mastered, says the youth on the Internet.

“Ritual” was interested and filmmakers, resulting in David Bruckner (“the Monsters of the South”, “V/H/S”) is directing the same film, and Netflix has laid out for him nearly five million dollars. It seems that it is a success. Especially as the film is, apparently, very well conveyed the atmosphere of the original, followed almost step for step. As an unknown creature follows the heroes.

The official synopsis is rather boring, so better bring a book annotation, the benefit of the story remained unchanged:

Four old University friends decide to escape from everyday worries and go camping to enjoy the unspoilt beauty of Swedish nature. Deciding to take a shortcut through the woods, the friends soon realize that he was lost, and directly to often stumble upon strange long-abandoned house with signs of bloody rituals and ancient ceremonies, as well as stuffed incomprehensible monster in the attic. When they come across the corpses of animals nailed to the trees, and then human bones, people understand that they are not alone in this ancient wilderness and hunts for them. Only they don’t know the truth about who is stalking them, much worse than they thought, and in these woods there are worse things than death.

In our paws landed a couple of bleak passages of the film. The heroes find a hut in the woods where escape from bad weather. Rain, cold, dark forest around, and even among the trees something, imagining – in short, guys will envy. If only they knew that their problems are just beginning.

Recycled book into a script Joe Barton (TV’s “the People”), and among producers primarily pay attention to the name Andy Serkis.

The main roles in the film played by Rafe spall (Black mirror), Rob James-Collier (“Shameless”), Arsher Ali (Doctor Who), Sam Troughton (“Midsomer murders”) and Paul Reid (“the Irish in London”).

Yesterday the film was released for theatrical distribution at home in the UK. Release date on Netflix has not yet named.
