The incident occurred late on Saturday evening.
“Unknown assailants, who reportedly were dressed in the veil (light veil Muslim in all growth – ed.), shot the car of Karimian, when he was driving in a luxury Istanbul Maslak, along with his partner,” – said in the message.
As noted, Karimian was a British citizen of Iranian origin.
On his page on Facebook GEM TV confirmed the death of Karimian.
According to Turkish media, the assailants overtook the car men, cutting his SUV and forcing him to stop. It is reported that the SUV was later found burnt in another area of Istanbul, in an apparent attempt to get rid of any evidence. The motive is still unknown. The police began a criminal investigation of the incident.
