Roman Sushchenko, Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko and other Ukrainian patriots were victims of political repression, which the current Russian leadership has returned in relation to the population of not only their state but also neighboring countries.
This was stated in an address on the occasion of Day of memory of victims of political repression, the Secretary of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.
“Famines and political repressions of the totalitarian regime tried forever to exterminate the freedom-loving spirit of our people and its eternal quest for freedom and justice… independence have done everything to ensure that Ukraine never was political repression. But now our compatriots are suffering from the aggressive and illegal actions of a totalitarian country for which the term “law” simply does not exist because the tyrant is a substitute for the law” – said Turchinov.
According to him, it seemed that such will never happen again, but Russia’s political leadership today is on the path of terror and aggression against the population of not only their state but also neighboring countries.
“Political repression, political prisoners in Russian prisons and concentration camps – all this again has become a reality. Roman Sushchenko, Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko… the list of Ukrainian patriots can go on and on…” – stated the Secretary of the NSDC.
