Toyota will build the world’s first power plant on biomass

Toyota has promised that the world’s first biofuel station will be operational in 2020 in California.

Her power would be enough to feed more than 2 thousand standard households. However, the electricity will be used to support the needs of the logistics wing of the Toyota Logistic Services, facilities and equipment which are located in the port of long beach, so that renewable energy will cover all the needs of the power company at the port.

In addition to electricity, the new plant will produce large amounts of hydrogen, which, according to the company, enough to power an average of 1.5 thousand cars a day. On the developed hydrogen will drive all company vehicles working in the port, including Toyota Mirai hydrogen and heavy truck Toyota Project Portal.

Toyota is considering a project of this station as a test but lay great hopes on him. It needs to show that the reduction of emissions and odnovremenno the increase in mobility is feasible. The company also want to find out whether hydrogen and bioenergy to meet the needs of so energy-intensive enterprises. If the experiment proves successful, the station can be deployed in almost any part of the globe.

Toyota is one of the few automakers who believe in hydrogen. The company shows the related concepts and is even in the Alliance Hydrogen Council, which predicts that by 2050 hydrogen will have 18% of all the world’s energy needs. And if the experiment succeeds, the company will be convinced of its hydrogen plans.
