This is the sixth time the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in the solemn March “Immortal regiment”. By tradition, the leader bears a portrait of his father, Vladimir Spiridonovich, who fought in the battle for the “Nevsky Pyatachok”.
The immortal regiment campaign was launched in 2012 in Tomsk. Initially, the procession was attended by about 6 thousand people. Over time the “Immortal regiment” began to gain increasing popularity.
In the heart of Russia, in spite of the weather bad weather and a heavy downpour, more than half a million people came to the Kremlin. It is obvious that the current generation is really important to remember and honor the memory of heroes.
The column stretches for 4.5 kilometers. Such scope did not expect even the creators of the very first action Lapenkov, Sergei Kolotovkin and Igor Dmitriev. Now “Immortal regiment” – not just national but also international action.
“Immortal regiment” not only in Moscow passed on such a scale. In the Northern capital, the procession has been held for the fifth consecutive year. And in 2014, the action was attended by about 30 thousand people, today to thank their relatives for the peaceful sky over the head came out more than a million inhabitants.
Today is the Day of Victory is difficult to imagine without the March to the glory of the heroes. Very good that such good traditions resonate in the hearts of men.
The scale of the event once again prove that this Victory was not easy for us: the price of many lives, the collapse of many families… “Immortal regiment” – another reason to think about the senselessness and ruthlessness of war. This tradition helps to carry the memory of the people who forged the Victory, through the years. No one will be forgotten, nothing will be forgotten.
