The leader of group “Cinema” in August 1990, died in a car accident
Today, June 21, would have turned 55 years of Soviet rock musician, songwriter, leader of group “Cinema” Victor Tsoy.
Viktor Tsoi was born in Leningrad in the family of an engineer of Korean descent, Robert Choi is a teacher of physical training of Valentina.
In 1981 Victor Tsoy, Alexey Rybin and Oleg Valinsky have created the group “Garin and hyperboloids”. Later this group was renamed to “Cinema”. The first album the band recorded under the guidance of Boris Grebenshchikov and his record was attended by all the musicians of the “Aquarium”.
Later in 80-ies Viktor Tsoi starred in a few films. In 1987, in particular, Choi starred in the film “the Needle”. In the same year they finalized the album “blood”, which was passed with a triumphant tour of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
The following year, the band recorded the album “a Star named the Sun”. And in 1989, the musicians went to France, where he recorded his latest album “the Last hero”.
August 15, 1990 at 12 hours, 28 minutes Viktor Tsoi died in a car accident. The accident occurred on the 35th kilometer of the highway “Sloka — Talsi” near Tukums in Latvia, a few dozen kilometers from Riga. According to the most plausible official version, Choi fell asleep at the wheel, and then his “Moskvich-2141” flew into the oncoming lane and collided with the bus “Ikarus”.
