Today in Minsk to negotiate a truce in the Donbass

Never Russian President Putin has not made a public statement that Russia will make efforts to stop the bloodshed in the Donbass.

Today at the meeting of the Minsk group should be decided on a truce before the start of the new academic year. This was announced by Vice-speaker of the Parliament, President’s representative on peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass Irina Gerashchenko in Facebook.

“This will be the 11th statement on the truce during these difficult years, and, unfortunately, none of them lasted several days. But still reduced the level of tension and escalation, and each life saved is worth it to negotiate,” – said Gerashchenko.

According to her, it is important that these meetings occur immediately after the telephone conference in the Normandy format. “For the first time there is a joint statement of the Norman Quartet about the truce, a public statement, because until now a decision on the armistice was adopted on a tripartite contact group”, – said Gerashchenko.

She added that representatives of Ukraine and the President always publicly supported these initiatives, and European partners.

“But never Russian President Putin has not made a public statement that Russia will make efforts to stop the bloodshed in the Donbass, for its influence on militants to stop to shoot,” – said Gerashchenko.

Gerashchenko stressed that security will be a key topic at the meeting in Minsk. “As the economy and the humanitarian aspect is very dependent on silence mode. Another question is how this decision will be implemented. It is important that Russia not only verbally support the regime of silence, and withdrew, finally, their troops and equipment, mercenaries,” she added.
