To this unique home you can get there only by helicopter. Photo

Perfect place for introverts.

The Keeper of this lighthouse isn’t the most suitable job for people prone to sleepwalking. Built on a stone cliff about ten miles from Iceland, a lighthouse Tredegar is one of the most secluded and definitely the most frightening lighthouses in the world. A lonely building, located at an altitude of about forty meters above the raging Atlantic ocean, was constructed in 1939 without the use of helicopters. It is difficult even to imagine how they could do this.

Lighthouse Tredegar inspired by Icelandic author Sigurdardottir the IRS for writing a detective novel “Why Did you Lie?”, which became a bestseller in their country. Even the lighthouse has its own profile on Facebook (although there is an assumption that the Internet on this rock is poor).

Not yet was built helipad, the Rangers had to swim the boat to the rock and climb it. One of the workers tells how they started to build the lighthouse in 1939:

“First and foremost we needed to create a path to the top of the cliff. In this we are helped by experienced climbers from the Islands Vestmannaeyjar. We delivered for them, drills, hammers, chains, and clamps to secure the chains. Very close to the top there was no way to hold on to, so one of the climbers knelt, the second stood up on his back, and the third climbed on both of them and only then was able to reach the top. It’s hard for me to convey how I felt watching this incredibly dangerous procedure.”

The helicopter lands on Tringale to plant maintenance team. They fix the lighthouse, spend the night there and fly the next morning.

Probably the best place in order to avoid the pre-Christmas hype!
