But what you eat and drink can also have a significant impact on the headaches. In fact, about 10 percent of people suffering from migraine are considering food as one of the triggers of the headache. Be careful with these products — they may cause discomfort not only in the stomach but in the head.
Aged cheese
Cheese, cheddar, blue cheese, Camembert and Swiss cheese can cause headaches because the amino acid tyramine that is contained in them. As a rule, the body has no problems with the breakdown of tyramine, but if you have an enzyme deficiency, this aminosilane can accumulate in the blood and lead to high blood pressure. It is assumed that tyramine promotes the release of the stress hormone norepinephrine, which also helps migraine.
Sausages
Like aged cheeses, sausages like salami and sausages contain tyramine. This also applies to smoked fish and caviar. In addition, many sausages can contain a lot of preservatives that contain nitrates and nitrites. These substances can cause increase pressure in the blood vessels, which in turn is a cause of headache.
